March 1958(Showa33), The American engineer family came in Kure city Hirosima prefecture.
At that time , there was the American ship building company in Kure .
Ken met the American family called Mirror. They exchanged greeting each other.
After Ken said to them, "My name is Ken." Mrs. Mirror suddenly cried. Ken was very surprised.
He looked Mrs.Mirror's face. A few seconds later, he understood that Mrs.Mirror was Susie. 
"Mari is fine. Still alive."
"I want to meet Mari."
"Any time O.K."
"Kure is still shine for me. never change. I'm so happy."
"I'm so happy too."
They had a good time each other.

After the War, People had worked very hard about for ten years.
People's daily life wasn't easy. But people never lost their hopes.
Several years later, Korean War began. That made economic recover in Japan.
But, almost people were suffering from their daily life.
Ken worked ship building company for engineer after graduated univercity.
At that time Mari was a friend of Ken's son Yuji.
Mari was so pretty. People took care of her babies. She watched the history of Japan with her cross neckless.
Mari was a essencial member of Ken's family.

The first job of people in Kure after the war was cleaning up their town.
Ken's daily work was cleaning up his school in Hiroshima.
Hiroshima became hell on earth at that time.
After school came back Kure city, Ken participated Miyahara town Kure city clean up.
It's was't easy job for Ken to participate.
But. He said to himseff, "I must live longer and longer for my classmates."
Because, his all classmates wre dead.
People of arround Ken spent hard days. But they have the big powre. They believed Japan's tomorrow.
They said to Mari, "Good morning. Good afternoon. Good evening."
They knew Mari's power. She was very popular among them.
She was also the simbol of Kure cities recover.

August 15 1945, Japan accepted unconditional surrennder. Japan lost the War.
People listened to Emperor's broadcast many places in ruins.
They cried out day after day.
"What should we do from now"
"I don't know."
They talk about each other.
Mari understood thier miserable minds. She comforted them at that time.
Esecially ken was only survivor of Atomic Bomb. He was basement of the factory builing.
He spent hard days. Mari always on his side. She comforted him.
Mari became the essential mascot of people.
After the War finished, the times had chaged. But People could not change thier mind rapidly.
They wre suffering from the new situation.

After the battle of Midway, Japan became inferior to U.S.
1945, U.S. made air raids into many cities in Japan.
People talked about each other, "Japan will lost the war before long."
Ken wished every day, "Please finish the War."
Mari loved Ken deeply. She was always besaides Ken.
Neigbor talked about each other, "Mari is Ken's wife."
Mari became very popular among them.
After air raids, People lost everything.But they never lost their hopes.
They believed Japan's recovery.

December 1941, At last The War began. Japan attacked Pearl Harbor.
Johnson family came back U.S.at that time.
Ken went to school in Hiroshima every day. and He took care of Mari.
Mari was tame ken and his family ,neibors in Miyahara town Kure city Hiroshima Prefecture.
Kure city was Japanese Navy's town. Kure was the key point of Japan.
Mari's daily foofs changed competely.But, she was't suffering from that at all.
"When is the war end ?" Ken said to himself in his heart.
"U.S. has strong power. Japanese people know that." He also said to himself.
"Mari wants to say to meet again if she speaks languge." He thougt.
"Mari ,you must live many many years." He said to Mari.
"Mew,Mew" She answered.

The day has come. Susie had to say farewell and gooby to Mari.
Japanese boy Ken said to Susie, "Don't cry Susie. After the war end. You can meet Mari again."
"I hope so." Susie answered Ken.
Susie put  crossneckless to Mari.
"Good luck Mari,. Good luck." She said to mari again and again.
Mari and Ken went back to Kure.
Johnson family went back to U.S. October 1941.
The war began two month later.
